    Hi folks,

We are facing high latency in wireless network.

When I am pinging Controller from client/ gateway its 50-60 ms.

However I enabled BC/MC optimization, Lower data rates- disabled, Band steering enabled.

any suggestion how to reduce it ???

Could be co-channel interference. Check your channel Busy times with the following command:

    show ap debug radio-stats ap-name Home-225 radio 1 advanced | include Busy

Where Home-225 is your AP Name and radio 1 is 2.4Ghz radio. If you want to check the 5Ghz, use radio 0.

    Thanks ,

I can confirm you that Co-channel interface is not there.

We are running 200 AP-215 and in dashboard its showing only 2 or 3 radio in red colour under Channel Busy.

However we are getting this latency all over the campus.

Also if co-channel interface is there what changes needs to be done ??

    Rana,

Why don't you tell us what you already checked, so we do not suggest it? There is a long list of things that we can check; please help us save you some time.

Do you have Drop broadcast / multicast enabled on the VAP ?

    Sorry Colin,

The followings I did to minimize the latency.

    1. Enabled BC/MC in VAP.

    2. Disbled lower data rates for A and G radio SSID.

    3. Enabled band steering on all VAPs

Like Vfabien said, you also need to enable "Drop Broadcast and Unknown Multicast" in all of your VAPs.  BCMC in the VAP is something different.

Also, 50 milliseconds is about average for a shared media like wireless.  It is not a cause for real concern.  Wireless VOIP can operate under those conditions, and that is the most latency sensitive application out there.
