    Hey Guys-

Im not sure what Im missing here but I cant find how to rename an AP in Central for the life of me.  We have an AP in an instant cluster which we manage with Central that is mis-labeled and I'd like to set it back to the default MAC address name type.

    Can anybody help?

Anybody?  Alternatively, can the name be changed for an IAP via the AP CLI?

Select the controller the APs are a part of, then go to:

Devices -> Configuration (cog icon in top right) -> Access Points tab

Then hover over the AP you want to rename and click the pencil icon.

(I know this is an old question, but I was recently sent a link to it so I thought I'd post the answer rather than leaving it sitting out here.)

That seems like the way to do it for a controller-based deployment. What about for Aruba Central with Aruba Instant clusters?

    Hi gpn005,

My instructions are using Central with an Instant cluster (in my case, made up of 305 & 303h IAPs).  You need to manage the appropriate Virtual Controller via Central, where you'll then see the settings I mentioned.  Select the VC via the drop down in the top left of the Central screen (screenshot attached).

    Hope this helps.
