How to specify controller role if want to 2 controllers as master and slave(standby) ?

  • 1.  How to specify controller role if want to 2 controllers as master and slave(standby) ?

    Hi , we have 2 controllers and want to configure active and standby mode, so what controller role should we choose? standalone or master?   how to configure 2nd controller ? use same configuration file? How about license keys? Only need to add the license keys on the first controller?

    1.  Always configure as Master, never standalone

    2.  If you make a controller you provision a local of another controller, it will get the global configuration of that master controller.

    3.  If you make a controller you bring up a backup master, it will get the global configuration of the master controller.

    4.  Backup Master = Standby
