Wireless Access

Hi there,

i have IAP 103 can not join on 3200 Controller, the IAP and Controller in the same VLAN
IAP get IP from DHCP but can't find the Controller, tried to activate the DHCP server on the Conrtoller itself , IAP got the IP normally but still can't join

i checking it by AP installation under Wireless tap

Controller Version 6.3.1.5
IAP version 6.4.0.2-4.1.0.0_44004

Note.
- I added an entry in DHCP server for Conntroller IP mapping to aruba-master. but still the IAP can't join
- added the IP of the Conntorller on the IAP manually but with no success also
- IAP Auto join mode : enable
- Conntroller discovery mode:enable
 map Controller IP

Minimum ArubaOS version for the 103 is 6.4.

Did you convert the IAP to a controller-based AP.?

actually i dont know, cause we just received that IAP 103 with 3200 Controller for LAP prupose

do i need to convert it from Maintenancetab in the IAP 103 ?

and how i can know it's in Stand alone or Controler mode ?

Yes. You need to upgrade your controller to 6.4 (from support.arubanetworks.com) and then convert the IAP to a controller AP from the maintenance tab.

Series). Legacy PPC controllers (200, 800, 2400, SC1/SC2) and 3200 controllers are not supported. Do not
upgrade to ArubaOS 6.4 if your deployment contains a mix of MIPS and PPC controllers in a master-local setup

Sorry misread. Thought you had a 3200XM. You'll either need to buy a memory upgrade kit or a new controller.

If you're already running 6.3 you most likely already have the memory upgrade as you need that to get past 6.1 I believe.

the AP joined after upgraded the controller to 6.4, thanks all for your help
