IAP-224 & External antenna assistance needed

    Hello,

     

    I have an IAP-224 with three small non-oem omni antennas.  I have a small room with three people in it around 85-ish feet away down at the end of a long hallway.

     

    Can I replace one of the omni with a patch antenna to give better signal to the room at the end of the hallway? If so, can you recommend an antenna that would do the job?

    For proper MIMO performance, you want the antenna patterns of the three antennas to be similar and overlapping. Changing one of the three antennas to a higher-gain model will result in performance issues.

    Aruba offers some 3x3 antennas with directionality and higher gain. I would suggest you explore that if your target coverage area is not omnidirectional.
