    Hi,

i am trying to get my IAP-225 to run on 11ac data rate but i cannot get it working right. does anyone have some kind a How-To doc to configure the 11ac on IAP-225?

    i already run firmware 6.4.0.3-4.1.0.1

    enable wide channel

run only on 5GHz on channel 149E only hoping only 80MHz would be broadcasted but i cannot get it run on 11ac data rate.

the device i have been using is an HTC One M7.

    could anyone help? thanks

    few more thing,

i only get max 86 Mbps and on the IAP config screen says my client run on 11AN.

if i capture the signal using inSSIDer, the AP only broadcast on channel 149+ (40MHz) eventhough i already set it manually on 149E

What is the device you are trying to connect with?

If it does not support ac, then it will only 'see' n rates advertised.

it's HTC One M7 which supposed to support up to 11ac

Can you do a 'show ap association' and post the output please?

Looking at the mcs index charts, it could only be connecting at 20MHz chanel width at MCS 8......assuming, like most phones, it only has one spatial stream.

I have one myself, but am not near any ac wireless for another couple of weeks.

Your device is probably 1 spatial stream therefore only capable of 150Mbps.

With MCS9 and 40 MHz width - max 200 Mbps

With MCS9 and 80 MHz width - max 433.3 Mbps

Provided the device supports MCS8-9 which is not mandatory.

I have my doubts that you'd ever see a smart device connected at those rate though.

Nice.  I'll give mine a test next chance I get.

Most phones, even if AC, are one spacial stream. You won't get the theoretical max without 3x3:3 clients. You'll find that there are very few of those out there.

    Hi Rickylee

Have you been able to get any device to connect at 802.11ac speed of say 800Mbps? We are noticing with our Android phones they tend to want to connect to the slower 2.4Ghz channel rather than the faster 5Ghz even though they are less than 20ft from the WAP. However I have a laptop using the Intel 7260 Dual Band Wireless-AC card and it will connect at 800Mbps regularly.  I apologize I don’t have any insight to help fix your problem but wanted you to know you’re not alone in having problems with the IAP225.

    Hi Guys thanks for replying.

I couldnt recall what show commands exactly i applied but i was able to get info from AP side that it already broadcast at 5GHz (i turned off the 2.4) on 80MHz VHT. But when i check on the associated clients, mine only works at AN ( only 11a HT i supposed). I config the channel manually at 149E.

I dont have many ac devices to be tested but from some forums there are some people able to get 400++ Mbps with M7 just like mine so i'm sure it must be at least has 3 spatial streams.

Wonder if it just an OS bugs. Anyone able to get decent 11ac data rates on IAP-225? Please let me know which firmware version you are using.

The M7 and M8 are single stream devices. Single stream devices with 80 MHz can have a max data rate of 433 Mbps.

Here's a nice chart that I am always looking at time and time again.

Still, my M7 only able to get 84Mbps. Something must be wrong..

if the AP225 wouldnt do correct 802.11ac then you would see many threads, so i assume it is fine. as asked before, do other ac devices get better speeds?

nope it's not. i tried with 4 devices HTC One M7, Sony Z2, Samsung Note 3, Samsung S5 and only S5 connects to 11ac but it's only 156 Mbps. not sure why, i am waiting for an AP from another brand and a dongle Netgear a6200 to arrive to continue testing.

Have you verified the 5 GHz band is not set to legacy only mode?

I just came across this setting the other day it’s a little hard to find and might be over looked.
