Is there a VLAN on the switch side of the trunk that is not configured on the Controller side of the trunk, or is it even a trunk?

 

Try matching VLANs on both sides and see if it remedies the issue.

Clear the interface counter and start with changing the fiber patch between the 2 switches. If that does not help then replace the GBICs and see what happens.
