    What method does an AP use to monitor whether a failed LMS address has been reinstated?

    It attempts to contact the previous controller at the hold down timer.

    Sorry, should have have added - after it is connected to a backup LMS.

    Thanks for the link, that clears up how it decides what action to take. What is the nature of the "probe" I'm interested in the protocl exchange rather than the timing system.
