We just revieved a AP-274 with two antennas. I was just wondering which piece of equipment needs to have the lightning arrestors connected to it? The AP or Antenna?

If I connect the lightning arrestors to the AP the cover does not fit over them so I am wondering if it is safe to connect the arrestors to the antenna? Or do I even need the cover put back on the AP?

The type of lightning arrestor we have is AP-LAR-1

    What antennas are you using?

Note that LARs are only needed on cables longer than 2m. So if you are using any of our 3x3 antennas with the integrated 36" pigtails, the LARs are not required. If you are using your own LMR cables, or LMR extension cables, the LARs will have to be put in place and the lower cover either left off or modified to allow the LARs and cables to protrude.

    I have ANT-3X3-D608 Antennas with 1 meter cables (LMR-195-1M).

So with the 1 meter cables i will not need the lightning arresorts correct?

Correct, just tie the cables right in to the 274 and you're golden.
