Master Redundancy - DHCP Server sync

Dear Experts,

Can someone help to confirm if comments by Colin still hold true on latest version of 6.x?

One of my customer has Cisco Nexus on core but he is afraid that using DHCP server on it will crash it. Also they rejected the idea of installing a separate DHCP server also.

Please advise if above link still holds true

Re: Master Redundancy - DHCP Server sync

Definitely installing a dedicated DHCP server would be preferrable.

However, you could split the scopes by excluding half on each controller. e.g.

Controller 1:

Network - 192.168.1.0/24

Excludes - 192.168.1.128 - 192.168.1.254

Controller 2:

Network - 192.168.1.0/24

Excludes - 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.127

This will stop the controllers issuing duplicate IP addresses.
