Is there any issue with using two different controller models in a master/backup master setup?  For instance, can you use an M3 and a 7210 controller (same CAP capacity)?

We have a 7240 master with an M3 backup master. No issues.

Cool, I could not think of any reason why is it would not work but I figured I would ask the community just to be sure.

    Thanks for the quick reponse!

Just be aware of the platform limits. You don't want APs failing over to the M3 if you are using things like AppRF 2.0 (deep packet inspection) which isn't compatible with the M3s.

Is it possible to use a 7030er Controller as Master an a 650er Controller as a Backup Master (no deep packet inspection is used, only 5 APs in our Lab)?

Does centralized Licensing work also with Master 7030 and Backup Master 650?

Yes, in a lab environment you could do this. Just keep in mind that 6.4 is the final release for the 650 controller.
