Dear All,

Happy New year, first thing I am a noob with this Aruba (I do know how to work on CLI) and we are currently on A200 controller with 3 AP, now I got new controller A620 with 2 AP (AP-93) which I tried and tried to configure but the APs are always on monitor mode.

I have been searching on the forums but couldn't find it how to so creating this new post.

- is it possible I can copy the running configuration from A200 3.xx OS to A620 6.1xx controller if so how ?

Its not recommanded to upload a 3.x config to a 6.1 controller. please gice us the following output to find the reason for the AP going to AM mode.

Please advice if the steps i did to install the AP was correct .

also i noticed after provisioning it says up and after a while i cannot see it as AP and it shows up as AM and goes down.

Can you attach the controller-techsupport and ap-techsupport ?

i selected AE as i am in United Arab Emirates

Looks like in this code AP-93 is not certified for AE for g band. it should work for 'a' band. however in 6.1.3.6, i see the following

ok i will disable G band and enable only A band and test it out if it comes back to AP

i have 2 AP working now on A band also it shows me now wireless LAN ssid activated.

sorry but one more little help need from you, i cannot see the SSID that i configure and which is activated.

i did make sure if it is not set as hide SSID or its disabled in profile configure.

Did you use the LAN/WLAN Wizard?  That is the best way to do that.

Yup i did the wizard even and create new SSID and applied but still it wont broadcast

In What ap-group did you create the WLAN?  Is the AP in the same ap-group?

Okay that means that RouseWLAN is being broadcast on the A band from the access points with the names "6c:f3:7f:9e:1e:20" and "d8:c7:c8:75:ca:e0".

Are you using a device that is 5ghz (a) capable to look for the WLAN?

Thank you my friend for pointing out for that i just with a laptop compatible to the specs and it connected and working fine.

one more question as you can see below i cannot use any of the G band on my APS which are not allowed and i am stuck with band a can you advice me how can i get G band working or some good settings that will help me get connected to all the devices

The best thing to do is to upgrade to ArubaOS 6.1.3.6 which has the AP93 approved for the AE regulatory domain...

my controller is upgraded to ArubaOS 6.1.3.6 and now i can see G band allowed channels thanks for your help in this.

i have enabled G band but i dont see theG/N band light coming up on AP93, also can you guide me how can i set it to run on both 2.5 ghz and 5ghz freq. ?

i have 2nd AP now i will try to plug it and and see if it goes ok

the steps i took to install AP to this controller are ( correct me plz if i am wrong)

plug it in to console

gave statis ip

setenv ipaddr x.x.x.x

setenv netmask x.x.x.x

setenv gatwayip x.x.x.x

servername < ip of controller>

save

boot

and then it will start downloading thing and i can see it on ap installation GUI window from there i select and click on provision and select the default profile and apply

i am sure it should pick up my SSID i configure even on the monitor status it says no SSID

Use the below commands

setenv netmask x.x.x.x

setenv gatewayip x.x.x.x

setenv serverip < ip of controller>

Thank you Vinod, thats what i figured out i did search on fourm and read few, now i am running it on G band 2.4ghz all the devices and Area is covered.

now waiting for some licenses keys so i can get it authenticated with Radius server.

i would really appricate if any of you guys can give me tips on which security method you would recommend.

i am thinking to set up WPA2 enterprise TKIP.
