    Hello all,

As an extension to Nightshade's post...

Has anybody found a mobile 802.11at compliant PoE battery pack available to buy anywhere in the world? I can't find one.

Historically we've equipped our survey kits with this 802.11af unit which works well...

However, that's not much use for 802.11ac surveys running (for example) a mobile IAP-225 as you don't get enough power. I'm checking this today, but I think when running on reduced power, the MIMO of at least one radio gets drawn back. Obviously not ideal.

Actually, I might have thought of an answer to my own question.

Our old batteries have a DC 12v outlet. I'm thinking of making a cable to take this into the DC on the IAP-225.

Actually, looking at an Airmagnet output, the various readings look not much different with the MIMO reduction on the 2.4Ghz.

With that in mind, I would say surveying with an AP running only on 802.3af power is fine.
