    Hello,

I just started a new Mobility Master VM appliance and when I add new User-Role, the names are automatically converted in lowercase.  I tried using Web GUI and CLI and it is the same.

Am I missing something or is it a bug?

    Version: MM VM 8.1.0.2

Browser: Firefox and IE (both latest version)

    Thank you,

This is normal behavior in 8.X. Everything will be normalized to lowercase.

    Hello Tim,

thanks for the ultra quick answer :)

No problem for me if it is the new way but if ClearPass is sending the role name with uppercase, will the systems convert it automatically or do I need to modify it in ClearPass?

By the way, the MM 8.1.0.0 user guide is not yet modified to reflect this: on page 79, they use the commands:

    (host) [mynode] (config) #user-role THR-ROLE-NAME-WPA2
    access-list session THR-POLICY-NAME-WPA2

    Thanks

The controller will normalize all VSAs returned from ClearPass to lowercase. So user-role “MEDIA-PLAYER” will automatically be interpreted by the controller as “media-player”.
