    Hi,

     

    We currently have 2 7010 WLC controllers running 8.0.0.0 in Master/Backup master setup. When we try to update software > 8.0.0.0, APs do not register on controllers. Probably, that happents because controllers become Mobility Masters and APs can not be terminated on them anymore.

     

    Is it possible to disable MM functionality with software > 8.0.0.0? (We just need config and licence replication between master/backup.)

    In AOS 8.x, once the mode of a controller is selected during initial setup, controller will not revert to MM. You may want to check other areas for issues.

     

    Does the AP eventually re-joins or you have to revert AOS versions?

     

    FWIW, recommend you upgrade to one of the newer release of AOS such as 8.2.x.
