Move License For RMA Purpose

    If I need to bring down my controller for RMA purpose, how I do move the Licences installed to a cold standby controller? Do I need to transfer the license from the old controller to the standby controller on the Aruba license website? I noticed that there is maximum number of transfers that can be done for a license certificate, how does this limitation affect our license for RMA purchase?

    One more question, will the transfer counts toward the number of transfers limit for a license?

    Have you already transferred the licenses several times ?

    I notice there is a limit on number of times that a licenses can be transferred, which is 3, I believe. We just want to check if the transfer of license from one controller to another controller for RMA purpose will count toward this limit.

     

    We have not transferred any the licenses yet, but just want to check before we formalize our continugency plan.

    That's the correct count.

    In case you run into any issues make sure you contact TAC.

    But you should be all set.
