The 7005 uses the CP210x USB to UART chip, and I just tried on a fresh Windows 10 and was able to make it work with the following steps:
- Download the CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers for Windows 10 from SiLabs.
- Install the drivers
- Now go into the Device manager, and search for the Aruba Networks USB to UART Bridge controller under Other Devices
- Right-click for properties
- From there click 'Update Driver'
- Then 'Browse my computer for drivers' (manual select)
- 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
- Select 'Ports (COM &LPT) from the list of hardware types:
- Select 'Silicon Labs' from the manufacturers, and Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge from the models:
- Now you will see a warning that Windows cannot verify the compatibility, ignore that:
- Success message should now appear:
Note the COM port number here and open PuTTY or your favorite teminal emulator:
