    Hello!

Nice forums you got here! I’m a new poster, so bear with me!

I have an issue with finding new access points in the Aruba Controller, I have connected three brand new AP in three different switches but I can't find them and provision them.

    Troubleshooting so far:

I have restarted the Aruba Controller.

I have factory reset the controllers.

I have 52 AP's that are up and running and I have licenses for a total of 108.

I suspected I might have configured the ports on the switches incorrectly, so I have compared the port setups with other working access points and I can't spot any diffrences. I also removed an existing working access point and plug in the new one but I still can't see the new AP in Controller.

Any ideas on how I can move forward with the troubleshooting?

    Thankful for any advice!

What are you using for AP discovery?  If the access points are on the same layer 2 VLAN as the controller, they should be able to find it.  If they are not on the same layer 2 vlan, you will need to using something like a DNS a-record of "aruba-master" or DHCP options to point access points to the controller.:  https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_6_5_4_X_Web_Help/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/AP_Config/AP_discovery_ADP.htm

On the controller's commandline, type "show ap database" to see if any of the new APS have flags that would keep them from coming up.

    Thank you for you reply!

I belive both DHCP and ADP method is being used...

    I have version 6.5.2.0

I tried the command suggested but it says: % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

    (SKAC01) >show ap database

I think you might need to go into enable mode. Execute the command "enable" first.

Plugging in a new AP in a working switchports would probably mean there is something else than controller discovery problems.

Which AP model are you connecting? Are you sure it's not an IAP (look on the back of the AP, it either say AP-305 or IAP-305 for example).

Thank you, I really appreciate your help!

    I'm using AP 325 indoor.

"enable" worked now I'm able to get a list

    b4:5d:50:c8:30:02 default 325 172.25.0.100 Down 172.25.0.10 0.0.0.0

There is no flag, status is down.

Hmm, are you able to console it to see whats going on in there?

Can you tell if the AP itself is rebooting? Does it ever go UP in the controller?

The AP seems to go directly to down status. I took another brand new AP and it doens't even appear in down or up status. I can't see it at all. Not web console or through the show ap database command.

    Strange?

Type "show log system 50" to see if there is anything in there.

It doesn't really say anything.  What version of ArubaOS is this?

    It's version: 6.5.2.0

Also, I plugged in another modell: AP-277 and it also shows status down.

*Update, after some wait the AP-277 showed up in the console and I'm all of the sudden able to provision it.

That's even stranger, what are the odds that I have two AP-325 that are faulty? I will try and factory reset both of them again.
