    Hi all,

As per 6.4 UG, it mentioned that a mesh-cluster-recovery profile will be generated in master controller after meshing is configured and provisioned.

But in the "show running config | include recovery" i don't see any output of it.

    Please help.

    Thanks,

    Try this command:

    show ap mesh-recovery-profile

It was removed out of the running config around the 6.4 release, but Colin's command does expose it.

Waht about AOS8? I try to configure mesh on my VMC, but the GUI says 'No mesh recovery cluster profile.'

In the CLI I see the same error:

    #show ap mesh-recovery-profile
No AP Mesh Recovery profile is found

What can be a problem here? Why VMC doesn't generate the recovery profile automatically? How can I enforce this?

    THX

    Cheers,

    LG

Do you have an MM in place?  According to the user guide here: https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_83_Web_Help/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/Mesh/Mesh_Profiles_.htm?Highlight=mesh%20recovery it is generated dyamically by the MM.  That might not be available if you do not have an MM.

I do see a mesh cluster profile on my MD and an MM is in place.

    Hi Joseph!

No unfortunately this is a standalone VMC, I have no MM installed.

rry for slow response. Standalone VMC to see mesh recovery profile is 'show ap mesh-recovery-profile'. it's not longer part of the running config.

    (ArubaMC-VA) [mynode] #show ap mesh-recovery-profile

    AP Mesh Recovery Profile

    ------------------------

    Item            Value

    ----            -----

    Cluster Name    RecoveryXOioKNstJd8a3Trl

    RF Band         a

    WPA Hexkey      ********

    WPA Passphrase  N/A

    Encryption      wpa2-psk-aes

    (ArubaMC-VA) [mynode] #

    Hi Jerrod

The show ap mesh-recovery-profile command says:

    [mynode] #show ap mesh-recovery-profile
No AP Mesh Recovery profile is found

But this would be a quite strong limitation if a standalone controller wouldn't be able to provide mesh functionality....

    Cheers,

Meantime I installed another VMC - same standalone instance, same sw version - and there it seems the mesh recovery profile is there, so something went wrong on my controller, but it woudl be nice to have a commande which can enforce the regenartion of the recovery profile.

    [mynode] #show ap mesh-recovery-profile

    AP Mesh Recovery Profile
    ------------------------
    Item Value
    ---- -----
    Cluster Name RecoverypUgwAoAXwDH8Ll2X
    RF Band a
    WPA Hexkey ********
    WPA Passphrase N/A
    Encryption wpa2-psk-aes

I don't know how it came up without a mesh recovery profile, that's generated on initial startup. A wr erase all should trigger it to rebuild, but if you still have it up and a wr erase all doesn't do it, open a TAC case so they can look at what's going on. If it was an early VMC from 8.0 and was upgraded over time, that might be it, but I don't know.
