Outdoor AP options

We need to deploy some APs to cover outdoor patio areas. In the past, we've used AP-275 and AP-365 with the arms, but we cannot use these (asthetics issue), so we need to install something flat against the wall and inside an enclosure (so it can be painted).

Would you recommend an AP-367 inside an enclosure? Any brand/model in particular?

If I go with an AP-367 mounted flat against the wall, what is the height versus depth? Is it 45 degrees?

Are they the same dimentions as the AP-365?

I'm attaching a diagram not to scale.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Outdoor AP options

Typically, mounting a 367 flat against the wall would work great. There should be enough signal even below the AP. If you place the AP very high, there might be issues and you should probably do some proper design. The Outdoor Planner might help in that. In general, if the AP is mounted below 10m/30ft you are likely fine.

If you have to put an enclosure around it, make sure it has the lowest attenuation as possible on 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Not so thick plastic with non-metallic paint should work. You could even consider spraypainting the AP itself (check your partner/Aruba SE for what it exactly means for warranty).

If you have urgent issues, please contact your Aruba partner or Aruba TAC (click for contact details).

Re: Outdoor AP options

Anyone with recommendations for enclosures for AP-367s?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Outdoor AP options

don't generally see the AP-367 inside an enclosure because the APs are weatherized. That said, note that so long as you follow the rules (mask all holes/ports, no metallic paints, proper UV and temp rating, etc), you can paint the AP, we don't care (though if you RMA one painted and want us to paint the replacement, that will not happen).
