Password length in Internal DB account

Is there a way to decrease the minimum password length required when manually setting up an account on the Internal DB?

I am setting up a few accounts for elementary school kids and they use 5 letter passwords.....

I have not come across this capability but am also curiouse.

You cannot, unfortunately. You could create then in Active Directory and set the passwords there.
