Ping my tunnel

    Why Can I not ping 1.1.1.2 from the controller?

     

    from a show run:

     

    interface tunnel 1
    description "Tunnel Interface"
    ip address 1.1.1.2 255.255.255.0
    tunnel source 10.120.150.60
    tunnel destination 10.120.252.59
    trusted
    ip ospf authentication message-digest

    do a show interface tunnel 1 > to see if the tunnel is up and running

    Aruba GRE tunnel ip address interfaces do not answer to pings.

    I find it somewhat confusing that the interface can be up but not respong to pings.  But I guess that is just the way it is.
