Just asking if anyone have positioning issue with AP115 vs AP205. 3 X 3 MIMO 802.11N against 2 X 2 MIMO 802.11AC. Any suggestion from the floor?

115 support more clients than the 205 because it has better CPU.

205 is like a low density 802.11ac ap

    Thats one :)

    Cheers

    AP-205

    • Lower cost
    • 2x2:2 ( one less spatial stream)
    • Supports 256 QAM (Faster speed if clients also support)
    • 80 MHZ channels (Faster speed if clients also support)

    AP-115

    • Little more expensive
    • 3x3:3 (Faster speed if clients also support)
    • Better CPU (supports heavier loads)
    • Only 11n

We will see more 11ac capable 2ss clients then we will see new 11n 3ss clients. I'd go with the AP-205 unless you need to support  higher client density, then go with AP-225

Thanks Carlos and Sean. In what we see currently that customer would prefer 802.11AC APs than the AP115. WIth the discount they would rather buy additional APs than to be constraint to 802.11N. But thanks for the infromation. Appreciate that.

I've been running into this the last couple of weeks.  When ordering new laptops, I've found that my only options are the crappy default .11n chipset with 2 streams or Intel's 7260 2SS chip.  Why no 3SS .11ac chipsets yet?

I agree, customer is asking if there are enough AC clients in the market to warrant AC APs? I have been selling future proofing.
