Pre 5.0 RAP License to Post 5.0 AP License

    I have a customer that ordered that ordered LIC-16-RAP (pre 5.0 RAP license) when they meant to order LIC-16-AP (Post 5.0 AP license) Is there a way to convert this? Will the post 5.0 license automatically work on a 6.1 controller?

    You are fine. In 5.0 the RAP license will just give you AP capacity. It will do the same in 6.x.

    Pre-5.0 licenses won't work on post-5.0 deployments.  You will have to get it replaced.  I would open a TAC case and see if they can help.

    Huh, when I upgraded, post 5 versions of my pre 5 license codes were just there on the licensing site.

    So that isn't automatic?

    Thats correct.  If you upgrade from 3.x to 5.x or 6.x, all licenses will be converted.  However, in this case, I think they purchased a pre-5.x license and need to install it on an existing 6.x controller.  That won't work.
