    Hi all,

I have preemption enabled in my HA configuration, but I noticed a handful of APs that did not fail back over after losing connectivity to the LMS controller. Does preemption have to be enabled in the AP System Profile as well?

Correction LMS Preemption is also checked in the AP system profile. Not sure why, about 70 APs did not fail back.

Is there any debugging that can be enabled to monitor the APs if I try the "ap-move" command?

In my experience HA and LMS do not  mix very well.

APs in our setup seemed to get confused between both systems alot. Where i expected HA to get preference over LMS.

    My 2 tips:

    - Always use controller-ip's (not just any vlan)

    - Set LMS only (not bckup-LMS) to match that controller-ip of an active HA controller

    We are running 6.4.4.16.

Also for more clarity, our configuration is setup as follows:

    HA Config:

    Preemption - Checked

    Over Sub - Unchecked

    State Sync - Unchecked

    Inter Controller Heartbeat - Unchecked

    Controller's setup in Dual mode

    AP System Config (Under LMS):

LMS IP: Defined as Primary Controller

    Backup LMS: Undefined

    IPv6: Undefined

    LMS Preemption: Checked

    LMS Hold-down Period: 600 sec

Don't know if that helps clear things up.
