Hi everyone,
I am trying to set up a network between a 3200 Controller and an IAP 105. It has to be an IAP, because it has a reset button. From what I have read so far, I have to convert this IAP into a campus access point to use it with a controller.
But for some reason I am not able to connect to the IAP UI using a browser and I can only access the cli in certain circumstances. Under these circumstances I am able to log in, but not able to change the settings with "authentication failed" as the given error (when trying to use the enable command).
This is the given configuration:
The router is broadcasting a WLAN and is plugged into some kind of server. The controller is also plugged into that server and is connected to a working AP 175 mesh portal. I have no access to the server and I am not sure what exactly it is doing.
The goal is to deploy the IAP 105 as a mesh point that is not hardwired to the controller.
This is what I have tried so far:
1) Connecting via PoE switch with no hardwired router or controller access:
booting after factory_reset:

The DHCP broadcast is then repeated for ever. Pinging it is not possible.
After having it hooked up and booted with the controller:
it seems to load alright but then suddenly stops. Last console entries:

After some time I receive these console outputs:
DHCP timed out.

Pinging it seems possible, but all packages are beeing lost.
In both cases it is shown as down in controller UI.
2) Connecting via PoE switch and LAN to laptop
exactly the same results as in 1)
3) Connecting via PoE switch directly to the router (hardwired)
a) The Controller is on
The IAP boots fine, connects to the controller and seems to work as intended, except for the hardwired part.
I have access to the cli, but when I use the enable command I am asked for the password, which I enter.
But then it only shows "Authentification failed" and until now I have found no information regarding this Error.
Then it asks me for the password again with the same outcome.
I can ping the AP.
The controller UI lists the AP as up.
b) The Controller is off
it tries to boot but stops with this console output

and then it restarts. Unless I power it down it stays in this loop.
I can ping it.
4) Connecting via the Server to the controller
The AP boots alright and works almost as intended, except for the hardwired part.
I can ping it, but I am still unable to access it.
In the controller UI it shows the AP as up.
In all constellations I was able to access apboot via console cable.
The http://instant.arubanetworks.com/ UI access never works. It always says: website not found.
Trying to access the IAP via its IP address always returns a connection failed error.
I hope I was able to provide all needed information.
