    If an AP-224 is purged, and placed in the same VLAN as it's "new" Master, will it 'find' it's old Master WLC acrossed a Layer 3 boundary, if the AP is still in the database of it's old Master WLC?

    The AP would go through the discovery process as normal. As long as you don't have a DHCP option 43 set it should discover the controller via ADP broadcast.
