RAP-2WG Not Working with AOS 6.1.2.5

    Hello,

     

    Does RAP-2WG work with Aruba3600-US Version 6.1.2.5?  A RAP-2WG after reset showed up in this controller with flags "IL" (inactive, unlicensed).  I do have enough AP license.  However, if this RAP-2WG force to an AOS 5 controller, it worked normal.

    You may need to upgrade the backup partition. I know there was an issue with this, especially if it was on 3.4rn at one point in time.     See what the partitions have on them.

    After you check the provisioning partition version, make sure you have it in your whitelist.

    Thanks zjennings, using the  “show ap image version”, I found the RAP was stuck in AOS5.  Using the instruction in COTD, it flash the new image and now showed up for the provisioning.  Thanks all for your help!

    Mike, we do not use the "white list".  All APs must be provisioned by IT and document before hand out.

    is RAP-2WG suitable for hotel application ??

    we just installed one lot RAP-2WG in a hotel room for guest wifi access

    we failed to configure the ap with the 3400 controller in past 7 days but no success

    some AP work but some APs are not working..

     

    some experienced users told us that we selected wrong AP model for hotel room application.

     

    we need advice from experts??

    The RAP2WG is specifically for the small office home office.  It is not plenum-rated and does not support POE so it is not appropriate for the hotel.  TheAP93 or the AP93H would be a better fit:

    Finally , we can use most of the RAP-2WG in the hotel rooms project. 75% of the APs (total 144 pcs) are working fine yesterday.

    However , new problem comes

     

    The 3400 controller stucks and need reboot manually.

     

    The os version is 6.1.3.3.

     

    Any suggestion ???

    We solved the crash problem by down graded the os to 5.0.3 from 6.1.3.  Everything resumes to normal.

    I would like to ask for the procedure or command to restart ap in specific period automatically.
