    Hello,
I try to configure a RAP 2WN like a CAP in Aruba OS 6.1.3.7, Can I do this without problems? I try to do it but when I provision that RAP with their respective AP Group (vap, vlan, dhcp, etc.), I can see it in the controller but i can´t see the SSID irradiated. In the CLI, this RAP has "IL" Flags, that stand for inactive and unlicensed, I have AP, PEF and RF Protect licenses enough. In case that i need a license, what license is what i need?

    Thanks in advance.
    Alberto.

Please check for command "show license" and show ap license-usage" on the controller to make we have the enough license to add one more Campus AP.  You may need to make sure counf of ap license, pef and RFP license match otherwise AP would not come up.

Show log system all output should give you more info about the RAP which shows inactive.

Also it is worth to check the default ap-group config to make sure we have the VAP profile and radio profile enabled.

    Thank you.

This is the ap license usage:

    (Aruba3400) #show ap license-usage

    AP Licenses
    -----------
    Type Number
    ---- ------
    AP Licenses 256
    RF Protect Licenses 256
    PEF Licenses 256
    Overall AP License Limit 256

    AP Usage
    --------
    Type Count
    ---- -----
    CAPs 0
    RAPs 0
    Tunneled nodes 0
    Total APs 0

    Remaining AP Capacity
    ---------------------
    Type Number
    ---- ------
    CAPs 64
    RAPs 256

The logs are in the attachments.

The RAP was provisioned with a AP group tested witn another AP, and works fine.

    Thanks.

Thanks much for the log info.

From controller logs, we could notice below messages stating RAP-2 can be used only as a remote ap.

As Jeff stated, RAP-2 is not supported or not recommended to bring up as Campus AP.

    hi Alberto

please refer to this other Airheads thread , RAP-2 as campus AP is no longer supported as of 6.1.x. You can change to RAP-3, or, configure the RAP-2 back to being remote AP.
