Remote AP not show in show ap database

Hello,

We have a cluster of MM with a VRRP address

We have a MD cluster with a VRRP address

We are in version 8.6.0.4

We have NAT the MM cluster VRRP IP with a PUBLIC IP in order to connect a Remote AP303H to it.

The Remote AP has been added to the Remote AP whitelist

The Remote AP communicates well with the MM.

However, we have the following error:

cluster_mgr [4236]: <352302> <6023> <ERRS> | cluster_mgr | cmlb_ap_handle_ap_down_request, No entry in active table in LB-AP thread for AP with mac <MAC>

Have you ever had this problem ? and do you have a resolution?

THANK YOU

Re: Remote AP not show in show ap database

The RAP needs to talk to the MD's public IP address, not the MM. APs do not terminate directly to the Mobility Master.

Re: Remote AP not show in show ap database

Hello, Thank you for your response, we have tested both solutions. With the public IP VRRP of the MD and with the public IP VRRP of the MM. We have the same error

Re: Remote AP not show in show ap database

For an MD cluster, all nodes in the cluster need to have a public IP. This public IP is defined in the cluster profile. Because the cluster returns a nodelist to the RAP, a single public IP is not supported. Have you done the cluster profile configuration for the MD cluster?

Re: Remote AP not show in show ap database

Hello,

At the Managed Network level -> Configuration -> Services -> Cluster, we have a cluster with the 3 Private IP addresses of the 3 MDs. But we did not put a Public IP address. Each MD must with its own Public IP address? So we have to have 1 PUBLIC IP for VRRP, and 3 PUBLIC IP address for MDS?

Re: Remote AP not show in show ap database

That is correct, see the configuration snipped below where a public IP is defined as part of the cluster configuration:

(host) [cluster] (config) #lc-cluster group-profile rapcluster
(host) [cluster] (Classic Controller Cluster Profile "rapcluster") controller 10.10.10.1
rap-public-ip 100.100.100.101
(host) [cluster] (Classic Controller Cluster Profile "rapcluster")controller 10.10.10.2
rap-public-ip 100.100.100.102
(host) [cluster] (Classic Controller Cluster Profile "rapcluster")controller 10.10.10.3
rap-public-ip 100.100.100.103
(host) [cluster] (Classic Controller Cluster Profile "rapcluster")controller 10.10.10.4
rap-public-ip 100.100.100.104

Re: Remote AP not show in show ap database

Hello, thank you for your answer,

At the VRRP address (Managed Network -> Configuration -> Reundancy -> L2 redundancy) should I also indicate the PUBLIC IP address? Where should I indicate the PUBLIC IP address of my Private VRRP IP

Re: Remote AP not show in show ap database

This would be configured as a NAT on your firewall, you do not need to configure the Public IP of the VRRP within the controller.

Re: Remote AP not show in show ap database

When I modify my cluster configuration (controller 10.xxxx rap-public-ip 1xxxxx), I get the following error:

Error: RAP public ip not configured for controller 10.xxxx, please configure RAP public IP to all controllers.

thanks for the information Public IP VRRP

Re: Remote AP not show in show ap database

You'll need to delete the cluster and re-create it.
