I have firewall rules in place that allow me to ssh to my controller but the controller isn't allowed to ssh back to me.

Is there a way to remotely copy files from the controller?

    An example would be:

    terminal on my linux box

    scp admin@controllerip:logs.tar .

That doesn't seem to work, but I wonder if it is more a problem with my path

    Please see examples here:  http://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_6_5_4_X_Web_Help/Web_Help_Index.htm#ArubaFrameStyles/Management_Utilities/Managing_Files_on_the_.htm?Highlight=scp

I believe your only options is to run the copy command from the controler.

I specifically needed the tech support logs. I have https and ssh access to the controller but the controller doesn't have access to reach back into the network on any port.

I found that I was not able to pull the file remotely so my solution to the problem was the log in to the GUI and generate and download the logs from the GUI.  Maintenance > Copy Logs > Download loags (tech support checked)
