I have some clients ( that are not moving around ) that disconnects randomly . They operate every day from their same position/desk and
they are positioned in different places with different AP that shoul cover them .
Often 2 clients in same desk has different behaviour , one working with no problem at all , the other disconnecting every few minutes . Clients are windows 10 or windows 7 PC , MacOsx , IOS , Android.
Issuing the command : Show ap client trail-info <client macaddress>
I get different answers :
1) Deauth Reason = Ptk Challenge Failed Alert STA has roamed to another AP
or
2) Deauth Reason = STA has roamed to another AP Alert STA has roamed to another AP
or
3) Deauth Reason = Requested authentication algorithm not supported Alert STA has roamed to another AP
This an example of " strange roaming " , 20:a6:cd:88:ea:e1 is the mac address for 802.11 g HT and 20:a6:cd:88:ea:f1 802.11.a VHT in the same AP , band steering is active with preferred band 5GHz .
