    Q. Can i have APs in seperate subnet which get IP from dhcp server and in which i'll have dhcp option 43 configured pointing to controller IP. Will the AP boot and get the image from the Controller. If yes, then does it require any additional config on controller?

Once you configure DHCP option 43 and let the AP know who the master it Ap will reach the master.

Master will then do AP image upgrade (if required) and also provide config to the AP.

    Hi,

Yes it is possible and it is general deployment scenario. you can treat AP as a host ( Like a desktop or a Laptop) if all the required configurations are in place ( IP helper address and a Valid pool in the DHCP) AP will get the IP from the DHCP.

You have to configure the DHCP pool with option 43 and option 60 to provide the master IP to AP. in Option 60 you have to specify "ArubaAP" as the text and in option 43 you have to specify the Master controller IP address.

for more help on this please refer the following KB article.
