    Hi,

I have integrated my Aruba WLC with the NMS server and having all the default SNMP traps enabled.

I am seeing over 20,000 SNMP traps  for "wlsxAPBssidEntryChanged "

What is this SNMP trap exactly for?

Is it normal to see these many traps for a network comprising of over 300 Access Points?

Traps are nothing but events occured on controller, any chanages occur on controller, it will generate trap and forwared to NMS server if we integrate.

    Capture.PNG

Default there are around 300 traps enabled on controller and all this traps will be sent to airwave.

If you dont want to forward all the traps to NMS then we could disable some unwanted traps.

I have attached snmptraps command list, you need to copy and past the commads on controller in config mode.

    Regards,

    Pavan

Thanks Pavan for the prompt response and in the interpretation of the stated trap message.

Before considering to disable certain traps, my worry is to understand the reason behind these may occurances of  "wlsxAPBssidEntryChanged" traps.

It does not appears to be a normal condition wherein these many traps are generated, right?

Also could you please share a document that help understand the interpretation of each trap listed in "show snmp trap-list"?

Please find MIB guide which provide details of each trap

    https://community.arubanetworks.com/aruba/attachments/aruba/IAP/152/1/Aruba%20Instant%206.2.0.0-3.2%20MIB%20Reference%20Guide.pdf

Based on trap count of BSSIDEntryChanged it looks their is continuous change in configuration I would recommand to open TAC ticket to check controller config.
