We just purchased a few IAP-135's and I need to convert them to campus AP's. We currently have a 7210 controller running 6.5.4.2. When I put in the controller's IP address in the AP to do the conversion I get a new tab saying "Connecting to 10.1.253.11 (My controller IP) failed: Connection refused.
Any thoughts\suggestions?
Thanks,
Brandon
Hi Victor,
Sorry, yes it is an IAP-315 "Typo". I can ping the controllers IP from that VLAN. This is our first IAP conversion, all of our other AP's are non IAP's. Also, we have 10 extra licenses.
I am not seeing anyting on the controller that would indicate the ap even trying to hit the controller.

I didn't realize that the code needed to match exactly on the Instant AP as well as the contoller. As soon as I updated the firmware on the IAP and the converted it everything worked as expected.
