Unintentionally Removed License

    Dear all,

     

    Unintentionally removed port 1 to 4 PoE  license for Aruba 650. 

    Because 'write erase all' at CLI.

     

    How to recover the PoE license?

    Log into the licensing portal site.   Click on "Import Preloaded Certificates".  Enter the serial number of the controller.  It should give you any preloaded keys to reenter.

    If you do not have access to the LMS portal.

     

    I was able to do this by sending an email to aruba support with the serial number of the controller, explain the issue and they emailed me the license activation key back to me.

    In order to prevent this from happening again in the future, I would recommend you keep a backup of you license on the controller.

    Use the following command to create a license backup file.
    (master) #license export backup.license
    Successfully exported 4 licenses from the license database to backup.license

    You can then import the license from the same file using the following command.
    (master) #license import backup.license
    Successfully imported 4 licenses to the license database from backup.license; please reload to make licenses take effect

    after write erase all everything about license is gone.

    You will have to log into the HPE Passport portal or contact TAC.
