    Dear Experts,

We have deployed Aruba controller 7210 and we have installed access points model number 205 and 215 .

    Specification are as follows:

    • Aruba controller 7210 O.S version is 6.4.2.3
    • Access point version is 4.1.1.0

Now we want to upgrade number of access point and planning to deploy model number 315 AP on 7210 controller.

    Our queries are:

    • Which will be the best Aruba controller 7210 OS version which can support all 205,215 and 315 AP simultaneously?
    • On upgrading the Aruba Controller 7210 OS , will it affect the performance and compatibility of 205 and 215 AP?

Your expert opinion will be highly appreciated.

Hi, you will need to upgrade the controllers to a minimum of

ArubaOS 6.5.0.0 since this is the minimum supported version for the AP315. The AP205/215 will also support ArubaOS 6.5.x without issues.

Upgrading the controller will not affect the performance or compatibility of the existing 205/215, you should however read the release notes of the version you will be upgrading to in order to ensure there are not changes which may affect your environment.

We have OS version 6.4.2.3 and as you said for 315 AP we need 6.5.0.0.

So my question is that can we directly move from 6.4.2.3 to 6.5.0.0 without facing any issue ??
