Using same vlan pool for two different SSIDs?

    Hi all,

We will be offering eduroam on our campus soon. I'm hoping to use the same vlan pool as we do for our existing .1x campus SSID. Mostly I want to do this because we are unsure of adoption rate of our local population (I plan to distinguish "native eduroamers" vs "visiting eduroamers" using separate post-auth roles, triggered via radius VSA).The eduroam SSID will use the same EAP and auth method as our existing .1x SSID.

Anyone using same vlans (or vlan pool) across multiple SSIDs? Anything terribly wrong with doing this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mike

We are doing the same thing.

We use name VLANs and use a different role for EDUROAM and it works great.

Thanks. Good to know this is working ok elsewhere.

Yes we use this across many locations, that way we can separate roles and do bandwidth throttling on one ssid but not the other even though they use the same internet connection.
