Visual RF Plan wont import .dwg

    Hello all,

     

    im using the following version of VisualRF plan on win7x64

     

    VisualRF Plan

    Version

    :Build Date:2012-03-29 07:36 PDT

    Java Runtime Version: 1.6.0_22

     VisualRF Engine Version 7.4.0 (build: 315)

    :VisualRF Engine Build: 7.4.0

    VisualRF Engine Database: 63559

    VisualRF Data Path: D:\IOC site plans

    VisualRF Plan Static:63557

     

    Now ive created campuses, and buildings, but when i try import a floor plan using cad drawings (.dwg) the software just shows a black screen where the drawing should be, and wont let me manually enter dimensions. If i click the b&w option, the "loading image" icon appears, the software then locks up and i have to use task manager to close it.

     

    I have no issues with other filetypes, but my issue is i have hundreds of floorplans i need to create and all are cad. i dont have software to convert them (tried shareware and trial versions have limits)

     

    so is there a solution to convert them for free (preferably batched) or is there an issue with my version of VRF ?

     

    My apologies that my first post is a question. Just found this website and im running out of hair.. ;)

    Also, I didn't see an image attached to the post for me to try (it might have been stripped from the post).  Perhaps you can open a support case (support@arubanetworks.com), and they can escalate to me if needed.  Support will be able to confirm is there's an issue parsing the layers from the dwg file.

    Hi Rob,

     

    Im meeting Janet Stubbs and Raphael Zaks again tomorrow in Canberra to give me the latest copy of the software. Perhaps i can give them a disk with some example .dwg's and ask them to forward directly to you to check??  Hope to get on top of this asap..

    That works.  Another option is to open a support case, support can provide you credentials to an FTP site where you can upload several plans.  That might be quicker and more direct.
