    Hello,

We are going to propose Aruba for a wireless IPS overlay network. What types of APs are suited best for AMs? AP68 for 2.4 only and AP105 for dual radio?

What about Instant? Can Instant solution be installed in the branches for dedicated monitoring, and centrally managed from Airwave RAPID? Will IPS functionality be different from the campus AM solution?

    Thanks!

Single radio APs like the AP68 will scan both bands in AM mode, but will take much longer, because it has to go through all the channels.  If there is IDS/IPS activity, the likelihood that it will miss it is much greater.  At minimum, you should have the AP105 as an AM.

APs with a controller doing IDS/IPS and monitoring are more mature and much more flexible than IAP APs in terms of attacks that they can detect and prevent.

    Hi,
I would like to deploy iAP as AM to detect and prevent attack in existing customers with other vendors WLAN.

The question is regarding the answer "APs with a controller doing IDS/IPS and monitoring are more mature and much more flexible than IAP APs in terms of attacks that they can detect and prevent."

Which are the diifferents between Controller APs or iAP configured/managed with Airwave RAPIDS in terms of attacks?

What we would do with one or another?

    Thanks in advanced.
