    Hi,

      I was talking to my boss about bying AMs for our environment, but he says that APs are also doing RF scanning and buying AMs is a wast of money. Any documentation I can use to show that AMs are better in terms of RF scanning. Thanks in advance.

    Take a look at the WIPS white paper, it details some good use cases for dedicated security with AM’s as opposed to a best effort approach with AP’s.

    If designing a wireless network use a ratio of 1:4 for the AM. So one AM on every four AP
