Why does airgroup AOS have its own versions?

I am just a bit confused as to why the airgroup AOS versions have split off from the main AOS version.  Does 6.2 not have airgroup?  I would love to have LLDP from 6.2, but I'm guessing I would lose airgroup.  Will they eventually be merged back together?

because it is a technology release, meant to give public access to some new functionality without the risk it affects the main release with issues. as far is a know it will be merged with the main release, unofficially 6.3 has been mentioned, but that can change.
