When you configure AP Provisioning, the following error message appears.

    What is the reason?

Error message: Error programming AP [provision-ap reprovision ap-name "xx: xx: xx: xx: xx"] Antenna gain not provisioned for band 802.11a

Does that access point have external antennas?  If yes, the antenna gain must be provisioned otherwise it will not turn its radios on.

The current AP model is 314.

    The antenna is third party.

What is the maximum gian supported by the AP314 model?

Gain is a function of the antenna, not the access point. You need to enter the gain produced by the antenna - this is a fixed value.

    Thanks for the reply.

I have been misunderstanding so far.

The exact symptom is that there is no option when setting the antenna gain value on the GUI.

You can see from the image above.

I wonder if it is a bug in OS 6.5.4.2.

I also wonder if it is possible to set it to CLI.

the screen capture doesn't really show it to be missing or not, it's outside of the region you screen captured. It should look like this

    ant_gain.png

failing that, do it from the CLI

    conf t
      provision-ap
         read-bootinfo ap-name <the ap name>
         a-ant-gain XX
         g-ant-gain YY
         reprovision ap-name <the ap name>
      !
    !

dont forget to make sure master/remote-ap is set as required, which it should be if you are "reading" the boot info first as above.

    Thanks for your reply.

I changed the operating system and the related symptoms disappeared.
