    I was wondering what happens if a client is renewing their AP infraestructure to 802.11ax but they stil want to give some use to their old 205 APS 

    It is possible to use them as air monitors? or there would be a problem if you got them as air monitor and the APS giving the client the 802.11ax technology

    What could be the probems could happens

    You would miss 11ax traffic for IDS detection, as you would miss traffic that uses more than 2 spatial streams. For the RF planning, rogue detection, containment, that AP would work great even if it is a previous generation.
