Is there a way to set up an email alert for down APs via 7210 controllers?

    Thanks,

I don't know the direct answer (I know, not helpful!) but we use Airwave for this purpose for our central Wireless Team (its an inbuilt feature).

We also have an in-house built system that can alert local IT teams but this relies on SNMP polling of the AP status from the controller.

    Thanks

The Aruba controller cannot send emails for alerts.  You would need an external Network Management System like Airwave to be able to send an email.

It's under the System / Triggers menu.

Before that how can I link Airwave & the APS on the controller?

Basically its under Device Setup -> Add

However I urge you to read the Airwave user guide.

Page >124 covers adding devices manually in the 8.2.7 user guide.

You will need to provide SNMP credentials aswell as SSH/telnet credentials and target ip of the controller. Associated APs will follow.

    Monitor read/only, is recommended.

Do note that you will need a sufficient amount of licenses in Airwave.
