Wireless Access

Occasional Contributor II

I am looking for best logging recommendations for Aruba controllers. Our syslog gets tons of messages for user authentication. I am wondering if all those messages are useful for daily basis. Or we should only enable those in case of any events.

This is our current logging configuration. I would appreciate if I get some recommendations on below.

logging level informational network subcat dhcp
logging level debugging security subcat aaa
logging level informational user
logging facility local0
logging 172.20.xx.xx severity informational facility local3
logging 172.20.xx.xx severity critical
voice logging
logging level debugging user-debug xxxxxxxxxx

Re: logging

No.  Everything should be at warnings for daily use.  Use "no logging level" to get back to that:

(Aruba7640US) (config) #no logging level
(Aruba7640-US) (config) #show logging level verbose

Facility Level Sub Category Process
-------- ----- ------------ -------
arm warnings N/A N/A
network warnings N/A N/A
security warnings N/A N/A
system warnings N/A N/A
user warnings N/A N/A
wireless warnings N/A N/A

 config t

logging 172.20.xx.xx severity warnings facility local3
