    Aruba Instant AP205

    Version 6.5.1.0-4.3.1.0 build 57768

    FIPS Mode :disabled

Troubleshooting an issue related to mDNS and I'm to the end of information I can find on the web. Below are some sh log sys outputs. After a recent firmware upgrade to resolve an issue of APs rebooting on their own; the new firmware has exacerbated the issue. Now random APs are rebooting multiple times a day, different APs everyime. So far 24-35 APs each event out of a total of 62 APs.

Does anyone have experience with these log entires? My logs are full of them (all APs are), can this be a cause? Is there a method to clear up the mDNS issues? We have Apple TVs and related apple devices in our network, so I expect to see mDNS, but there must be a reason the APs cant handle something about this traffic.

    Thanks, Colin.

I assume disabling Bonjour on the IAP will disable the ability to use Apple TV and other link local protocols, correct? If this is true, it does not work for our environment.

Please open a tac case so your situation can be looked at in detail. There is a limit to the private information about your network which will be required to understand and fix what is happening here.

Thanks - I do have a case open with TAC.

    Hi Colin,

Thanks for the tip here. I tested this feature after hours and all APs have stabilized 100% while bonjour type functions still working.

    Update to this.

Apple devices can use the appleTv's in our network just fine, however WIN7/10 machines running airparrot are not able to see the shared devices.

For auto-discovery of devices, AirParrot must run on a computer in the same subnet as the desired connecting device. Bonjour and mDNS multicast traffic must also be enabled. If the network does not allow Bonjour or mDNS multicast traffic, try Quick Connect.

Enabling Bonjour in the IAP, APs start rebooting and disaccociating immediately.

    Back to the drawing board.
