    Hi

How to do mac authentication using extrenal server?

Do we need to add mac addresess manually or can it be done automatically as device connects?

if we configure both mac as well as 802.1x authentication, mac authentication gets bypassed ??

    Thanks

In the AAA profile for that virtual ap, you need to attach a Mac authentication profile, as well as a Mac authentication server group that has your external server in it. The Mac authentication profile will determine exactly what case and what delimiter the mac addresses will have in the external database. In the external database you need to enter the mac address as the username and as the password in the external database. by default a device that fails mac authentication will not proceed unless you enable layer 2 fail through in the triple a profile.
