right way to save and backup internal DB

    Hi,

     

    I just had a problem on one site were I faced some electrical issues and the controller were off for a while. When the controller came back online all the info on the internal database were lost, so I want to know what is the right way to save the info on the internal DB and how do I make a back up of it??

    I believe these are the commands you are looking for:

     

    local-userdb export local-userdb-export
    copy flash: local-userdb-export tftp: 192.168.0.25 local-userdb.bin

    thanks, do you know if there is any special way to save it or just with a write memory??

    The export command that Zach showed you saves the exported DB to a file in the controller's flash.  You'll see it when you issue the "dir" command.

    Allright,

     

    You need to upgrade to at least 5.0.3.3 (release notes attached).

     

    There are 3 bugs (45049,  37387, 38793) that were discovered where when a controller is shut down unexpectedly, it causes corruption to the local database.  Upgrading to 5.0.3.3 will ensure that you will not have to copy off and save the local database.

    Am I correct in assuming that the local-userdb is saved in the flashbackup as well?
