    Hi,

A station tx rate is 24 Mbps and suddenly it starts to retry and changed to 6Mbps and after couple of retries again it became stable at 24Mbps

So what are the situation client reduces it's data rate

What is the relation of rssi, snr and tx power

How the data rate is reducing  when the clients moving away from  AP, for example cell edge

     Thanks

    Hi,

Thanks for the video . In my case station getting same signal strength  (lets say -43 rssi) and  the station in an open area ( I mean the quality of signal strength is almost same ). Still the client shifting to a lower rate means there is power mismatch between the station and the AP ?

    Thank you

The negotiated rate for a station is a function of the signal strength of a device, but it also depends on successful delivery of traffic. If a client has good signal strength, but traffic fails to be delivered half of the time either because of contention or interference, it will downrate and try again, even if the signal strength is good.
